The scheme is part of the new neighbourhood in Upper Nazareth which was built in the early fifties to accomodate the new immigrants. The project was planned on a sloping hill overlooking the existing old town. Row-houses climbing the slope along the terraced footpaths, have a minimum area of 55 sq.m. each, but they can be extended easily to 75 sq.m. by adding a bed-room and enlarging the living area to the rear. The terraced layout of the single-family row-houses, and the use of local stone combined with concrete, reflects the existing building traditions in Nazareth.
