Gropius: The name architect implies "Master of the Arts," one who will make gardens out of deserts.
Kandinsky: Analytical drawing is training in exact seeing and exact rendering of the constructional elements of the object, its logical forces or tensions.
Klee: Without intuition we can do a lot, but not all. In the beginning, one is concerned with the functions, later on, one learns to look behind the facade, to grasp the root of things, to dig down, to uncover, to analyse.
Moholy: Spatial design is an interweaving of shapes into well-defined space relationships; shapes, which represent the fluctuating play of tensions and forces.
Albers: From the study of materials we learn which qualities are important: harmony of balance, free or measured rhythm, central or peripheral emphasis. Students and teachers learn from each other continually, otherwise teaching is a sour bread.
Breuer: Let our dwelling have the imprint of the owner's character. The architect, creates only half a dwelling; the man, who lives in it, the other half.
Hannes Meyer: The architect must be backed by the scientist, sociologist, and the psychologist. Architecture is not the individual emotional activity of an artist. Building is a collective activity.

Mies: Less is more.
