Haifa
Kingsway in Haifa was planned during the Thirties on the area reclaimed at the building of the port. This wide road constitutes the main traffic artery serving shops and store-houses in the vicinity of the port. Construction has followed a prescribed layout with shops on the ground floor protected by a cantilevered concrete canopy as shade from the sun. This gives the street its specific character.
