In 1962 Sharon received the Israel Prize in Architecture for this building.

The project is also described in this chapter in the K+B book.

The complex of hospital buildings is today known as the Soroka Medical Center, in honour of Moshe Soroka, who was one of the leading personalities within the organization of the Labour Federation Sick Fund and the 'driving force' in the decision to build this hospital in the capital of the Negev.

The "Regional Hospital", built 1962, is called (2011) the Old Hospitalization Building.
