Architectural Competition - First Prize

The activities of the Histadrut, (the General Federation of Labour), embraced all aspects of Israel's economic, social and cultural development. The aim of the exhibition was to create an organic overall picture of the Histadrut's endeavors and achievements. The architectural challenge was to integrate the interior design into the architectural space, and to tell the Histadrut's story in a visually convincing way. The four pavilions were composed of modular wooden elements, repetitively growing in height and length with ceilings covered by jute, in four basic colours, red for the Unions, green for agriculture, blue for cooperatives and orange for citrus. The exhibits were composed of three-dimensional diagrams built up mostly of agricultural products and building elements. The design slogan was: form follows story.
